Data Recovery and Forensic Data Recovery
Today, almost everyone stores some type of data electronically.  This data can include personal records, financial records, invoices, customer databases, personnel files, emails, electronic media like audio files, image files, motion picture files and numerous other documents and information. Files that have been lost, deleted or corrupted as well as other information can often times be recovered from computers and other media, including  flash media, (thumb drives) digital cameras, camera cards,  removable media (CD ROMs, floppy diskettes)   and cell phones.
Forensic Examination—A forensic examination of a computer or computer related media is an intensive examination of the computer and / or media.  A forensic examination includes a complete report.  Expert testimony is also available for civil litigations.
A forensic Exam includes forensic duplication of the media to be examined for evidence related to the case and a complete report of findings.  The time it takes to examine media varies widely, based on the type of media, the size of the media, and the complexity of the exam.  Encryption, deleted, or obliterated data as well as other factors affect the complexity of the examination.  You may need a Forensic examination of a computer or electronic media if the data that you wish to have recovered may be pertinent to a civil or criminal litigations.
Simple Data Recovery—Simple data recovery is data recovery without forensic examination and forensic reporting.  Simple Data Recovery can recover files that have been deleted, password protected files, encrypted files, formatted hard drives or recovery of data from damaged media.  Depending on the media, some, all or none of the data may be recovered. You may need simple data recovery if you are just looking to recover files without a forensic examination of the media.  Most individuals that have lost data by accident will use simple data recovery.  Simple data recovery is just that is simply recovering lost or deleted data without a forensic examination and report.
Password cracking / recovery
Password cracking / encryption cracking is gaining access to a file or files , or a computer system that have been encrypted or password protected.   You may need password cracking / recovery if you have a file, or files, that have been password protected or encrypted.  Passwords to web sites can sometimes be obtained as well.

Media Wiping —Overwriting of existing data on a piece of media so that any existing data will be obliterated. You may need media sterilization if you are disgarding a computer, or computer related media (like a hard drive, thumb drive, floppy diskette).  Media sterilization ensures that ALL data has been removed from the media.

The cost of data recovery varies depending upon the type of media, the size of the media and the type of service that you are requesting.  Please contact customerservice@afred.net for pricing for your specific needs.
